
The Interflora World Cup took place in Shanghai last month, with twenty of the world's best florists competing for the title of World Champion. The contestants had to complete various floral works on-the-spot, focusing on oriental themes, but with a few surprise elements thrown in to test their spontaneity as well.
On the first two days of initial assignments we saw Stein Are Hansen from Norway take the lead immediately, impressing the judges with his eloquent arrangements. By the third and last day, it became clear that the talented Norwegian would also be taking first prize in both the final assignments, making for an indisputable and triumphant overall World Cup victory for Hansen.
Number two was Yvonne Roth from Switzerland, followed closely by Chang Sung Won from Korea, who ended up taking third place. Overall, it may be said that the Europeans did a very good job once again.
